Potty training tips anyone?!

We started to potty train Zaiden last week. Agggh! I really dread this part of parenthood! I will be glad when we don't have 2 in diapers though!
He loves sitting on the toilet but most of the time he just plays around then hops down. He doesn't actually go. I haven't been very diligent on taking him all the time and it seems like last week was a crazy week to start, but this week will be better! Any tips?

Right there with you! I took Makayla to the store and she picked out Dora panties, but sitting on the toliet is just a game to her, I think I'll wait til she shows more interest. Its way to much work, and takes way more time than I want to spend. But you have two in diapers, I would go with it! (Easy for me to say!) Good luck.

Yes, potty training stinks and I wholeheartedly agree that it is so far the worst stage of parenting! But he does look stinkin' cute sittin on the pot :) Good luck and my advice is bribery, bribery, bribery...hehe. We also tried putting a cheerio in the toilet & making Dayton see if he could "hit" it.

He is so dang cute! He seems so little to be potty training! It's hard when they don't "get it!" Ella isn't even all the way there yet - but it's getting better. I do have one tip though. I had the hardest time getting Lily to sleep through the night without an accident. I tried everything! No drinks at night, making her use the potty right before bed, lights to mark the way to the toilet...the list goes on. I ended up getting up in the middle of the night for 2 weeks to get her up and take her to the bathroom (this was the bad part for me). However, after the two weeks she's had no accidents! Yeah!

I've always waited until my boys were older. They showed more interest then and my 2nd boy was a breeze. But what about that potty training with signs you were telling me about? Isn't it pottytrainingwithsigns.com or .org or something?

I wish I knew... I started Addysen again this morning and she was off to a good start.. she peed in the toilet right away and you know what is next.. Yes, pooped in the panties.. at this point, that is when I say YUCK, let put a diaper on you.. I know that if I just stick with it for a week or so she would probably figure it out... I just need the strenght and the lack of gag reflexes to get through it...! Smiles, Tamara

I know he seems too young but I've read a lot about potty training and they say the best time to potty train is between 18-24 months; before they hit the defiant stage...and when you have 2 in diapers, the poop adds up!:)

Since I read your post I've been asking Brax if he wants to sit on the potty when I know he's going and he's loving it. Nothing's come of it yet, but so far its been fun... for him. ;)
